Important Information About Cancellations and Refunds
Cancellation Policy: (TEMPORARILY AMENDED for second time on 5/14/20 FROM “MODERATE” (30/14) TO ”RELAXED” (14/7) STRICTNESS with a “TEMPORARY BENEFIT” TO HELP AS BEST WE CAN WITH THE UNCERTAINTY OF THE VIRUS SITUATION; until further notice).
Cancellation or changes of reservations with advance payments:
- Any changes that are made MORE than fourteen (14) days prior to the check in date will not be penalized and may receive a FULL REFUND, [exceptions would be any “third party” charges, (ex: Homeaway/Vrbo/Airbnb/ Trip Advisor etc), service fees or credit card processing fees out of our control IF they exist].
- Cancellations that are made LESS than fourteen (14) days prior to the check in date but MORE than seven (7) days will qualify for a 50% refund, less possible third-party charges mentioned previously IF they exist. (CURRENTLY WE ARE WAIVING the cancellation charge of $250.00). ALSO SEE “TEMPORARY BENEFIT” BELOW.
- Cancellations that are made LESS than seven (7) days of the check in date forfeit the full advance payment unless we can re-rent, the flight to Maui is cancelled or mandatory quarantine has not been lifted. (BE SURE TO READ NEXT PARAGRAPH BELOW). If there is a deficit in price for the replacement reservation, that amount will be retained by Platinum Maui Vacations. Typically, there is a cancellation charge of $250.00 or 10% of total booking amount, whichever is greater, HOWEVER, considering the current virus outbreak, we are CURRENTLY WAIVING the CANCELLATION CHARGE.
”TEMPORARY BENEFIT” used at Platinum Maui Vacations discretion: GUEST WILL BE ALLOWED TO RE-BOOK their stay period IF used within one year of original reservation in lieu of a refund, “if written notice, is given seven (7) or more days in advance” or if your flight is cancelled due to COVID-19 virus. A processing fee of $75 plus any deficit owed due to a future price increase will be due when entire balance is due 60 days in advance of rescheduled reservation.
It must be understood we do not guarantee the same unit will be available in the future but if the same villa is still in service, that villa will be the one dedicated to the reschedule). The credit will be for the amount paid in. If the credit is less than the pricing for a future period, guests will be required to pay the difference plus a $75 processing fee at time of re-booking. (We will require a copy of writ from the airlines that your flight was cancelled).
IF YOU ARE OVERLY CONCERNED ABOUT TRAVELING DURING THIS VIRUS OUTBREAK, IT WOULD BE BEST TO CANCEL OUTSIDE OF 30 DAYS. IF YOU THINK YOU MIGHT CANCEL, PLEASE LET US KNOW AS SOON AS POSSIBLE SO THERE MAY BE A CHANCE WE CAN RE-BOOK ANOTHER GUEST AND MINIMIZE LOSSES TO ALL CONCERNED.
Cancellations and early departures due to health issues or sickness, inclement weather or natural disasters, do not warrant any refund of rent. We highly recommend all guests purchase travel insurance to protect their accommodation investment!
